Access the latest APhA resources and information you need on immunizations during COVID-19. Education, webinars, advocacy opportunities, and more are all available on APhA’s Pharmacists’ Guide to Coronavirus.
The Immunization Quick Reference Guide was designed to enable certified immunizing pharmacists and student pharmacists to stay up-to-date on current vaccinations and guidelines and to help them answer questions from patients and other practitioners.
This guide is created and updated by APhA’s Academy of Pharmacy Practice & Management (APPM) Immunizing Pharmacists Special Interest Group (SIG). All information presented correlates to the vaccine recommendations of CDC’s Advisory Committee for Immunization Practices (ACIP) and is current according to the date on the cover page. The guide is meant to be used as a reference only; pharmacists and student pharmacists are encouraged to review current ACIP guidelines for full, up-to-date information. (APhA Members Only)

Aging and Immunity Guide for Pharmacists
The American Pharmacists Association (APhA), American College of Physicians (ACP), and the Gerontological Society of America (GSA) partnered to develop a new guidebook on adult immunization. Funded by GSK, Aging and Immunity: The Important Role of Vaccines is a guide designed to help health care professionals understand the biological impact of aging on immunity and the value of vaccination as an effective tool in reducing the risk for vaccine-preventable diseases in older adults.
This resource provides pharmacists with guidance and information on the application of shared clinical decision-making for pneumococcal vaccine recommendations.
This professional practice resource will serve as a quick reference guide for pharmacists to assist them when discussing vaccine options with patients.
In 2018, APhA convened an international, interprofessional expert panel at the 78th FIP World Congress of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences in Glasgow, Scotland, entitled Creating a Successful Pharmacy-Based Immunization Practice. This publication provides panelists’ perspectives from the FIP World Congress on the value of improving access to immunizations through interprofessional collaboration, approaches to overcoming barriers/challenges, and steps that can be taken toward effectively implementing pharmacy-based immunizations.
These 5 resource guides are designed to help community pharmacists plan, evaluate, conduct, and raise successful awareness of immunization events. Discover how these resource tools can help you identify patients eligible for vaccination and engage in meaningful discussions about disease prevention.
