Ambulatory Care Review and Recertification Activities


APhA strives to make the Board Recertification process more convenient for certified pharmacists by breaking sessions down into smaller pieces so that you do not have to devote hours of uninterrupted time to maintaining your certification. If you have 30 minutes, you can complete a module. We know you are busy, and we are determined to make maintaining or preparing for board certification fit into your schedule.

APhA is currently creating a cutting edge product line centered on interactive and multimedia-based learning. Designed to be both concise and easily accessible, our revitalized products can be completed on your tablet or mobile device as well as your home computer. These unique programs will provide practitioners opportunities to maintain and expand their knowledge and skills in Ambulatory Care Pharmacy.

Description of Product Line

Live Offerings

Board certification demonstrates superior knowledge and expertise beyond a licensed pharmacist. Certification credentials may be useful in qualifying for a promotion or obtaining a job with a new employer.

This course is offered in-person yearly at the APhA Annual Meeting and continuously online.   

APhA Ambulatory Care Recertification Workshop

A closed half-day session with APhA’s expert Ambulatory Care faculty, videos of each presentation, and a recertification exam offering up to 4.5 BCACP recertification credits.

Trending Topics in Ambulatory Care Recertification Package

Sessions at the APhA Annual Meeting & Exposition as part of the Ambulatory Care advanced training curriculum. The subject matter is part of the examination. Please note that these are open sessions available to all APhA Annual Meeting participants. Registration includes a recertification exam offering BCACP recertification credits and access to videos of each session. Attendance is highly encouraged. Online Recertification Products

Evidence Based Practice: Podcast and Literature Series 

APhA has partnered with iForumRx, an interactive web-based community for Ambulatory Care pharmacy specialists, to produce a line of innovative and interactive recertification products. This series features succinct commentaries about practice-changing evidence through a series of podcasts, online panel discussions, and polls. Designed to be completed in short increments and released on a regular basis, the podcast series provides up to 10 BCACP recertification credits.

APhA Ambulatory Care Multimedia Series **Coming Soon

This exciting new product line is still in the planning stages but will focus on innovative recertification activities designed with interactive characters, videos, and other multimedia-based lessons. Stay tuned for more details.

Based on the live course held annually at the APhA Annual Meeting, the online version includes access to videos of each session, slide presentations, sessions handouts, and the recertification assessment worth up to 10 BCACP credits.

The Ambulatory Care Practice Exam is a compilation of practice questions to help you prepare for the Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) Ambulatory Care Specialty examination. The review exam questions are designed based on the domains, tasks, and knowledge statements developed by BPS for the Ambulatory Care specialty examination. It provides an in-depth review of patient care issues for practitioners in Ambulatory Care.
