Hot off the press: Provider status coalition one-pagers

Provider status was the talk of our Annual Meeting. It’s also gaining traction in Congress as eight cosponsors have now signed on to H.R. 4190, which was introduced by Congressman Brett Guthrie (R-KY) on March 11.

We’re now publishing the initial set of Patient Access to Pharmacists’ Care Coalition (PAPCC) one-pagers to help you educate your Member of Congress on the importance of attaining provider status for pharmacists’ patient care services. As a proud member of the coalition, APhA has posted the first three PAPCC one-pagers on our website.

The one-pagers comprise a legislative overview of H.R. 4190, background on the unmet need for pharmacists’ services, and information on pharmacist scope of services. H.R. 4190 is a new bill in the House to amend Title XVIII of the Social Security Act to enable patient access to, and coverage for, Medicare Part B services by state-licensed pharmacists in medically underserved communities.

Stay tuned for additional PAPCC documents. Let’s continue the momentum!
