Call to action: Submit nominations for 2016 awards and applications for 2016 election

If you know someone worthy of recognition OR if you’ve ever wanted to get involved in APhA, NOW is the time to act.

We’re a highly member-driven organization. Volunteers lead APhA, and our staff works very hard to execute the vision and plans of these volunteers. We like to hold up the examples set by our exemplary volunteers through the most robust awards program in pharmacy.

The only way we stay an awesome member-driven organization is through the continued volunteer efforts of our elected and appointed leaders, through committee work, through Special Interest Group involvement, and through the nomination of innovators and leaders for our many awards.

Board and Academies leadership

For those APhA members looking to take the next step in professional engagement with APhA, we hold elections each year for volunteer leadership positions. If you are passionate, hard-working, and ready to make an impact on the Association and the profession, please consider applying for an elected position.

APhA is seeking candidates for the offices of President-elect, Speaker-elect, and Trustee (two positions) for the APhA Board of Trustees.

At the Academy level, APhA–APPM is seeking members to serve on its expanded APhA–APPM Executive Committee, including Executive Committee Member-at-Large (three positions) and New Practitioner Officer.

APhA–APRS is seeking candidates to run for APhA–APRS President-elect, Postgraduate Officer and Chair-elect for each of the Academy’s Sections: Basic Sciences; Clinical Sciences; and Economic, Social, and Administrative Sciences.

Applications for open positions in the 2016 APhA Election are due October 1. For more information, visit www.pharmacist.com/elections.

Awards

APhA annually recognizes numerous individuals, organizations, and schools/colleges of pharmacy for their contributions to advancing the profession of pharmacy. Through our awards program, we stimulate research, practice innovations, quality publications, and leadership development that will improve medication use and advance patient care.
