Provider status advocacy in action: Kentucky’s pharmacists garner support from their entire House delegation

I’d like to extend a huge congratulations to the pharmacist community in Kentucky. Thanks to their tireless efforts and sharing their patient care stories, the ENTIRE Kentucky House delegation is supporting H.R. 592. Importantly, their own Rep. Brett Guthrie (R-KY) is one of the original sponsors of the legislation. This is what I’m talking about when I say pharmacists need to get in the game and make a difference!

Here is a tip o’ the hat to Bob McFalls, the Kentucky Pharmacists Association Executive Director, the association’s members, and all the pharmacists in the Bluegrass State who made this possible. Bravo!

Bob and his group are continuing their work on the Senate side.

Want to make a difference in your state? Contact your U.S. representatives in the House and U.S. senators today to urge them to cosponsor the federal provider status legislation—the Pharmacy and Medically Underserved Areas Enhancement Act (H.R. 592/S. 314).

We’ve made it easy for APhA members to contact their U.S. representatives in the House and U.S. senators. Use APhA’s prewritten letter, which can be personalized and sent automatically to your legislators.

The number of cosponsors is growing, but we need to keep up the momentum and can only do it with your help. You can check to see if your Members of Congress have cosponsored the legislation at Congress.gov. If they are already a co-sponsor, a letter of thanks is always welcome!
