Live from the White House today: Obama speaks on Ebola

This afternoon, President Barack Obama will make remarks on the progress to date and the next steps in our nation’s response to the Ebola outbreak in West Africa. As we’ve noted before, our own U.S. Public Health Service pharmacists responded in force. I’ve heard that a very special guest and friend of APhA will introduce the President. You can watch today’s ceremony live on the White House website at 1:20 pm EST.

It’s been approximately 10 months since the first U.S. personnel were deployed there to fight Ebola. Given the improved epidemiological outlook, the President is set to announce that the majority of troops deployed in the military’s Ebola response will return home. Stay tuned for our news coverage of the event on pharmacist.com and via APhA and Pharmacy Today social media.
