On October 12, APhA hosted a meeting of the iHealth Alliance board, on which I serve. The group includes representatives from medicine, the medical insurance industry, and other stakeholders in the quest for enhanced electronic health records (EHR). My participation with this group represents the nexus of three agenda items for us: collaboration with medicine, improved Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategies, and our efforts to ensure pharmacists have read/write access as relevant contributors to EHR and quality patient care. As the new guy on the board, I hosted the event to give the group a good look at us and to establish strong relationships. I believe we achieved those goals. Thanks to all the staff who helped with coordination and for our onsite services. These functions are truly a team effort.
