As noted in APhA’s recent news release, we hosted a stakeholders’ conference on Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategies (REMS). APhA is all about creating opportunities for pharmacists to improve medication use and advance patient care. This conference was precisely on point with that mission, and pharmacy was well represented. Ultimately, we’ll see a more standardized, systemized approach to REMS that affords new opportunities for pharmacists. If you read my blog post a couple of days ago about being stuck in the middle, then know that these services are one way we’re trying to get us out of that middle. I was proud of our team for pulling together a stellar program and also pleased with the input and participation we got from so many groups, including FDA.
