FDA and HRSA pharmacy interns visit

FDA Interns visit APhA

On October 12, pharmacy interns from FDA and the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) participated in a group meeting and tour of APhA headquarters. During their visit, they learned about APhA’s history, structure, and current projects, programs, and partnerships. Joining the meeting were two of APhA’s current interns: Katie Morneau, University of Maryland, and Marissa Clarin, North Dakota State University. In honor of American Pharmacists Month, each student received a “Know Your Medicine—Know Your Pharmacist” lapel pin.

APhA student development staff host meetings for pharmacy interns in the Washington, DC, area each month as part of the APhA Experiential Program in Association Management and Leadership.

As was the case on Tuesday, I often get to spend some time visiting with these bright, motivated folks, as I have in recent weeks with several pharmacy school classes. My overall impression is that our profession has a bright future!
