APhA Financial Chief Joe Janela Named 2018 Nonprofit CFO of the Year

The American Pharmacists Association (APhA) announced today that Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President, Finance and Administration, Joseph Janela was named the 2018 Nonprofit CFO of the Year.

Janela will be honored during a ceremony and luncheon in Washington, DC on Oct. 11. This annual event recognizes the contributions of nonprofit financial executives who demonstrate a vision for operational excellence, innovation in financial management, exceptional leadership and commitment to improving accountability and financial reporting.

“I’m flattered to be considered for such an award,” Janela said. “This award is for all of APhA. I could not have been in this position without the support of a great leadership team and CEO in Tom Menighan, the hard work of the finance and accounting team, and the rest of the talented members of the APhA family.”

As CFO, Joe serves as a business partner to the CEO and Senior Management Team and is responsible for all financial matters including budgeting, long-range planning and forecasting, banking and investment relationships as well as fiscal and operational oversight of APhA’s office building and related lease operations with the U.S. State Department.

In addition, Janela oversees APhA’s Administrative Services and Information Technology Department operations in support of APhA’s association-wide activities.
